GENERAL INFORMATION

• Crypanthus are a fascinating genus of the Bromeliaceae family.
• They are easy to grow and particularly hardy, either in-ground or when grown in pots.
• Adds a wonderful splash of color around rockeries or logs in shady areas of the garden.

SOIL REQUIREMENT

• Mixed.
• A loose soil, such as a mix of orchid bark with sphagnum- or peat moss and cocopeat, is ideal for Cryptanthus fosterianus.

FEEDING/FERTILIZER REQUIREMENT

• A slow-release fertilizer combined in the potting mix is recommended. Beware of copper and boron that are toxic to bromeliads. Your fertilizer should have none or no more than trace amounts of these micro-nutrients.
