GENERAL INFORMATION
- The pomelo (also called shaddock, pumelo, pommelo, and Chinese grapefruit) is the largest citrus fruit, ranging from the size of a cantaloupe to that of a large watermelon.
- Pomelo mixes the sweet taste of orange with the tang of lemon.
- Its lineage means that pomelo contains many of the same compounds as grapefruit.
SOIL REQUIREMENT
- Suitable for: Light (sandy), medium (loamy), and heavy (clay) soils and prefers well-drained soil.
- Suitable pH: acid, neutral, and basic (alkaline) soils and can grow in very acid soils. It cannot grow in the shade.

FEEDING/FERTILIZER REQUIREMENT
- Keep the soil pH more acidic, around 6.0 to 6.5.
- You can test the soil pH every few growing seasons and add dolomite limestone to raise the pH if necessary.

LIGHT REQUIREMENT
- It requires a bright sunny position.
- Most only reach 1–1.5m (3–5ft) tall in a pot but can grow larger in good conditions, depending on the rootstock.
WATER REQUIREMENT
- Though it varies depending on factors such as relative humidity, temperature, and plant maturity or size, a potted lemon tree should be watered thoroughly about once every 5 days, or when the soil is dry to the touch 2-3 inches below the surface.
