GENERAL INFORMATION
- Also known as Curly Willow or tortured willow, corkscrew willow (Salix matsudana ‘Tortusa’) is easy to identify by its long, graceful leaves and curly, contorted branches, which become especially noticeable during the winter.
- Salix matsudana is a species of willow native to northeastern China.
- The species is named in honor of Sadahisa Matsuda, a Japanese botanist.
- Three varieties are recognized, Salix matsudana var. anshanensis, S. matsudana var. matsudana, and S. matsudana var. pseudomatsudana.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS
- Cut stems 45 degrees diagonally with a sharp knife or a pair of scissors.
- Change water every two days.
- Remove any fallen leaves on the water surface.
- Re-cut the stems if the end is soggy.
