GENERAL INFORMATION
- Morning glory is the common name for over 1,000 species of flowering plants in the family Convolvulaceae, whose current taxonomy and systematics are in flux.
- Morning glory flowers (Ipomoea purpurea or Convolvulus purpureus) are a common sight in many landscapes and may be found in any number of species within the Calystegia, Convolvulus, Ipomoea, Merremia, and Rivea genera.
- All morning glory plants produce attractive funnel-shaped blossoms of various shades like white, red, blue, purple, and yellow with heart-shaped leaves.

- They prefer moderately fertile, well-drained soil that is kept consistently moist until the plant is well established.

FEEDING/FERTILIZER REQUIREMENT
- They will grow without fertilizer, but will produce more flowers and grow larger if you fertilize them monthly during the growing season.
- Choose an all-purpose fertilizer with equal amounts of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, indicated by a ratio on the label, such as 10-10-10.
LIGHT REQUIREMENT
- Morning glories prefer full sun but will tolerate very light shade.
WATER REQUIREMENT
- Once morning glory vines are established, they require less water.
- The plants will grow in dry soil, but you'll want to keep watering morning glories to keep the top inch of soil moist.
