GENERAL INFORMATION
- Persian violet (Exacum affine), or Exacum Persian violet, is a species of plant in the family Gentianaceae.
- It is endemic to Socotra, part of Yemen and its natural habitat is rocky areas.
- It is an attractive perennial with bluish or white star-shaped flowers and shiny green leaves.
- These plants can be grown indoors, but they also flourish outdoors.
SOIL REQUIREMENT
- It prefers a slightly acidic potting medium and an African violet potting mix is ideal.

FEEDING/FERTILIZER REQUIREMENT
- Feed every 2 weeks while the plant is blooming with a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted by half.
LIGHT REQUIREMENT
- It prefers bright light, but not direct light, so it would be best to keep the plant near a window.
WATER REQUIREMENT
- Keep the soil moist and be careful not to water it too much; this will cause rotting of the roots.
