GENERAL INFORMATION
- Coconut Husk Fibre is a natural fiber extracted from the husk of coconut and can be used for Horticulture purposes.
- Also known as Coir, it is a substitute for sphagnum (peat moss) because it is widely available and environmentally friendly.
- Coir is also useful to deter snails from delicate plantings, and as a growing medium in intensive glasshouse (greenhouse) horticulture.
- As a substitute for peat, because it is free of bacteria and most fungal spores, and is sustainably produced without the environmental damage caused by peat mining.
- Mixed with sand, compost, and fertilizer to make good quality potting soil.
