GENERAL INFORMATION

  • Coconut Husk Fibre is a natural fiber extracted from the husk of coconut and can be used for Horticulture purposes.
  • Also known as Coir, it is a substitute for sphagnum (peat moss) because it is widely available and environmentally friendly.
  • Coir is also useful to deter snails from delicate plantings, and as a growing medium in intensive glasshouse (greenhouse) horticulture.
  • As a substitute for peat, because it is free of bacteria and most fungal spores, and is sustainably produced without the environmental damage caused by peat mining.
